We are really enjoying working in the Makelight Studio and slowly we are creating a special space. The studio is in an industrial building with huge ceilings and large windows. This is wonderful in so many ways but sometimes it's nice to create little spaces within such a large space, so that you can feel cosy and snug when you need to.
I have started to create a little reading area next to the green wall. I'm on the look out for a comfy chair for this cute corner but I have added this lovely, warm wooden leg table light from Dwell. It's a table lamp, which I'm going to put on top of a wooden crate but for now it happily stands on the floor next to our happy monster bench and books.
In the opposite corner of the studio we've added a giant angle floor lamp in white, to go with the white walls. It made me smile at how small it looked at first in this space even though it is giant! It goes so well with the style of the space and it's going to bring some lovely soft lighting on Summer evenings and during the Autumn and Winter when I really don't want to be using the nasty strip lighting that's here at the moment. Yuck!
And for my desk I got this cute little silver z table lamp also from Dwell. I love how simple and stylish the design is.
Next I want to get a few rugs, put more of our art work up on the walls and get a bit more furniture to store all the props and kit in.
If you would like to come and spend the day in the Makelight Studio, I have lots of workshops coming up and plenty more will be announced soon.
