Our Maker Spaces
Hello! I hope you are having a good week. I have just three more makers from Maker Spaces to share with you, which neatly takes us up to the official book launch date of April 9th. Sadly my beautifully organised blog series was knocked sideways by the decision to just release my book about 6 weeks early but oh hum! It has been very lovely to hear some early reactions to the book and it's made me very happy. Thank you!
Today the maker is me....well my family and me. We are in the introduction to the book and next week you will be able to see our whole house on one of my favourite blogs - I can't wait to share that with you. Both of those things still sound really crazy to me! I am very excited and proud though.
I will leave you to explore our home on Monday but I thought it would be lovely to finally share some images of our new studio, which isn't in the book as we only got it at the beginning of this month. It has been a goal of mine to have a studio in 2015 but it's come about 6 months earlier than I ever even hoped it would. I still can't believe it when I turn the key and see this.
Stef and I share this space and it is so very lovely to have somewhere that is ours to work, create, teach and inspire. The light is incredible and it is so good to have the high ceilings too. I always feel I can think so much bigger and clearer when there is a combination of high ceilings and good, natural light.
And the best bit is that it's in West Dulwich, which is a 10 minute drive from home in East Dulwich or a lovely 2 mile walk which goes through my favourite park. When you live in London that kind of distance to work is really amazing!
These gorgeous drawers are full of styling props. If you come to one of my workshops you will get to see inside!
Our family motto is Create Something Every Day and the Makelight Studio is where we help, inspire and encourage others to do the same.
If you would like to come to a workshop at the Makelight Studio I have lots of dates coming up. And watch this space for some other creative workshops coming to the studio soon.
You can also book to come and spend time learning with me 1-2-1 or you can come and use the studio to shoot your blog posts or your products with or without my help. If you are interested in hearing more about that then please email me.
