Hooray! Hello Makers is back for 2015 and I thought I would kick-start this series back into action by introducing you to the very wonderful betsy & iya who are based in Portland, Oregon. I first heard of them from my friend Emily Barnes and was excited to visit their gorgeous shop and studio when I was in Portland last year working on Maker Spaces.
I have a big love of jewellery and many, many years ago I used to make a few pieces that I would sell at local markets, so I always enjoy discovering new jewellers and it was a special treat to be able to see where the betsy & iya magic happens in the studio behind their cute shop.
In the shop they sell their own designs alongside gorgeous products from designers and makers in Portland and beyond.
I really like what they have created with all the bits of metal that they don't use. How cool is this?
And I really love their Maker Shrine, which is made from scraps of materials from over 40 different Portland makers and assembled by Betsy.
And these gorgeous rings.
I can't wait for pt. 2 of the collection, which is coming later this year.
Thank you Betsy for designing such wonderful things and for making your dream a reality for us all to enjoy and treasure! xo
