A year ago yesterday we moved with our three young children back to London and finally found a place we are all really happy and proud to call home. I think it may well be our forever place - or at least for the next 20 years or so, while we bring up our children.
Moving back to London after spending two years in Hertfordshire was quite a controversial thing to do. We knew it was right for us and for our children but the reaction from family and friends wasn't always quite so positive! Most people move out of London when they have children, not back in.
But it really is one of the best decisions we've ever made. We are all so much happier here and I certainly feel like I've lived here for longer than a year, which is a beautiful feeling indeed. I can remember how I felt like I'd come home when we moved here and I still feel like that.
I also feel so lucky to live in a place that inspires me every day, that makes me feel completely happy to be me with no pressure to be anything else, and that is so friendly.
I am so glad we were brave and followed through on our decision even when others tried to persuade it was the wrong thing to do. Here's to many more years of happiness in our corner of London!
